Fun Fact Friday!
Fun Fact Friday!
I don’t think that Grandma really liked getting a shot everyday but I am thankful for all the cattle pancreases that kept her alive for many years. |
Today’s post is a little personal and I am proud to share it with you all.
Fun, fact, Friday has been one of the highlights of my week. I think all week about a fun fact to share with all my readers. I hope that you are enjoying them as much as I do writing them.
Today is about insulin. Insulin is given to diabetic people.
My Grandmother was a diabetic. I remember her poking her fingers and giving herself a shot. I always felt pretty bad for her because I didn’t quite understand about diabetes. Today I have a better understanding.
My fact is that it takes 26 pancreases from cattle to provide enough insulin for 1 diabetic person to live for a year.
Do you know anyone that is on insulin?
I sure do!
I don’t know about you, but I sure am thankful for all the pancreases that are used to help keep our family, friends and neighbors alive everyday.
Happy Friday! Have a good weekend.
