A Sunday Thought~Celebrate the Gift of Today

A Sunday Thought~Celebrate the Gift of Today

Celebrate Every Day!!

I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.
Isahiah 61:10

My thoughts for the last couple of weeks have really been on our world. You see, how do we rejoice in the Lord when we live in an uneasy, broken world and every time we look in a newspaper, read social media, or read our emails, we hear about another awful crime or awful story?

I saw a wood sign the other day in a store that said, “Celebrate Today! I came that you might have life abundantly!” I should have bought it, but I just took a picture of it. This statement really changes my views. God has given me this day, and I want to make sure that I am doing what he wants me to do everyday. This statement is a reminder to me that in the darkest of days I can still find something to celebrate. Each day is a gift, and although on some days it may take some thought, there is always something to rejoice about.

Here are a few of examples of what God has done for me:

One of Cade’s cows had a backwards calf, and after pulling the calf out, Cade’s cow died from the complications of the delivery. Life and death happens, we all know that, this story is no different except that Cade now is responsible for feeding his calf. I think it’s a good lesson for Cade and he is getting a kick out of feeding his calf. They already have a bond. You see even when things look dark, God reminds us that he is still in control.

This past year, the repair bill on our vehicles tripled because we have so much water and mud. I mean we have replaced more ball joints, bearings, and bushings then I can even count, but guess what, we have green grass coming. You see even when you think about all the money, God reminds us that we need all the moisture, because our cattle need it.

Last week I got a phone call from a friend that I haven’t chatted with for a long time. I really appreciated her words. “Naomi, keep your head up, God has a plan for you.” You see, even when we think we are taking 5 steps backwards, someone is there to tell us its okay, now take 10 steps forward.

You see, these are only a few of my examples, but we can all learn to celebrate today. We have to look for it.

What makes your heart pitter-patter?
What makes a smile come to your face?
What makes your soul find peace?
Whatever it is, go do it. If its calling a friend, then pick up the phone and call them.
If its going for a walk, then head out the door and do it.
If its going for a horseback ride, then saddle up and go.
If its sitting in silence, then find a quiet spot.

My point is that when things that make our heart and soul feel good, then God will be able to work magic in them. We can consciously release all our worries, fears and burdens to God. When we look at all the amazing things that happen everyday- the beautiful sunrises, the miracle of life, the miracle of salvation and forgiveness, a phone call, a hug, a child’s laugh, a friend’s visit- our heart and souls will leap with wonder that will fill our minds with love and joy.

My prayer:

Lord, help me look for the magic in this day. Open my eyes to the reasons for joy so that I can celebrate life in all its fullness. Thank you for giving me life today. Thank you for everything you have given to me. Thank you for showing me your ways.

Happy Monday, friends.

A Sunday Thought~Integrity

A Sunday Thought~Integrity

Integrity is choosing Courage over Comfort; Choosing what is right over what is fun,

fast, or easy; and choosing to practice our Values rather than simply professing them.

He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.
Luke 16:10

This post has been brewing in my head for a couple weeks. It’s one of those post that is hard to write. Why? Because I fear of being judged or rejected, but after my dear friend Terryn I attended the Cultivate & Connect conference in Kansas City by Ag Chat, I decided that I am just going to say what is in thoughts.

This little word has so much in it.
I want to talk to you about it today.

The word is: Integrity!!

What does it mean?

“Integrity is doing right when no one is watching.”

God wants us to be people of integrity, people of honor, people who are trustworthy.

Can we rise to this or do we prefer to pretend we have integrity?

I started writing notes about Integrity and created a list of characteristics we need to have to assist us in our understanding of integrity.

Nonstop Personal Growth:

We need to be constantly in learning mode. We must be honest with ourselves, seek guidance to discover and work around our bad spots and always learning.

A promise is a promise:
I don’t need to say anything else. We need to keep our promises.

Reliability:
We need to be reliable leaders. We need to stick with problems and issues until they are resolved.

Accountability:
Don’t just blame others and/or take the blame ourselves, we own the situation and all of its outcomes. Be accountable for our own actions.

Just do the right thing:
Just do the right thing, at the right time and for all the right reasons.

Respectfulness:

Respect is earned. It is done so by showing respect and an acceptance toward others. Respecting others means understanding different values and beliefs, recognizing, accepting and developing the skills of others. Respect also means communicating and interacting with those around us with empathy.

Accessibility:

Be there!! That is all.

Transparency:
Don’t be fake! Be clear and real.

What are you doing to lead with and strengthen the integrity of those around you?

This question is what I need to ask myself EVERY DAY. It is so important to share our story and help others see past the false fear that their integrity is only as strong as the secrets they keep.

It is my goal to do better. It is my goal to show integrity.

God will only trust us with more after we have been faithful with a little. Our lives are an open book before God and our lives should be an open book before those who are around us. God looks at our hearts and motives.

Running on Smiles and Love this Monday afternoon.

Peace, Love & Thankfulness

Peace, Love & Thankfulness

When I arise in the morning, I think of all the the precious privileges it is to be alive- to breathe,

to think, to love, to enjoy and share it with those around me.

And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body;and be ye thankful.
Col 3:15

My thoughts this week include peace, love and thankfulness.

We all have struggles, difficulties and challenges. Right?

We think that we have more problems then everyone around us. Right?

Well that is wrong.

I believe that we make the mistake of allowing our struggles, our difficulties, our challenges, and certain circumstances dictate our happiness. When we make this mistake we are missing out on God’s messages.  Does that make sense?

God never said that one day we should be on “cloud nine” and the next day we should “be in the dumps.” What God wants us to do is live consistently and enjoy every day of our lives.

So how do we live consistently?

We have peace, love and thankfulness.

One thing that I have been doing to help with my own self is writing a daily diary. I write what our family did, my random thoughts, and random goals. Just this little change in my daily habits has changed my thoughts and has pushed me to become a better person.  I highly recommend it for everyone that needs a little push in the right direction. Writing a diary has made me appreciate myself and my thoughts. It has also brought more peace, love and thankfulness to my soul. We all have a purpose and I aim to find mine.

I want you to help you find yours as well.

You know what else causes us to not have peace, love and thankfulness?

Negativity!

We focus on the what could happen. We focus on insecurities. We focus on what we see on the outside. We get focused on the negatives.

Well I am here to tell you this:

When tomorrow comes, God will provide.
He will give us what we need, but we have to have peace, love and thankfulness to see it.

My ending thoughts are these:
I want to live my life in a way that I can have peace, love and thankfulness. I want you to also.

Happy Thanksgiving week to all of you.

I am very thankful for all of you that support me by reading my posts. I love all your comments.

A Sunday Thought Door Keys love Prayer

A Sunday Thought~The Keys to Unlock Life’s Door

A Sunday Thought~The Keys to Unlock Life’s Door

My Sunday Thoughts have been around this statement:
A Very Little Key Can Open Big Doors.
Don’t give up. The last key on your key ring, usually fits the lock.

And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatesoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsover thou salt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

Mattrew 16:19
I believe the KEY to enjoying our life as it happens is Mindfullness.

What do you think?

I think we spend too much time living in the past and too much time reminiscing about how life was, or what we wished our lives would be. I know that sometimes I find myself worrying about things I cannot control.

We worry so much that we can become stuck in a negative pattern and fail to see the love, beauty, opportunities and peace that are right in front of us.

Let me explain:
When was the last time that you really looked up at a sunset and saw the beauty of it?
When was the last time that you said “I love you to one of your love ones or/and friends?”
When was the last time that you thanked God for everything you have?

You see, we are missing Key opportunities. We need to focus on living today and we have the key to open a fresh door everyday. I pray each and everyday that God gives me the Keys that I need.

Here are my KEYS:

Focus. I mean really FOCUS. I mean put-your-phone-down and focus. I believe that you have to practice this each-and-everyday to get really good at it. I find myself trying to complete tasks and not really focusing on what the kids are saying, and its not just the kids, it is conversation in general. I pray each day that God helps me Focus on the things that matter the most.

Forget. I mean leave the past in the dust. We cannot bring back tomorrow. We have memories, and they are nice, but dwelling on the past is just taking up our future time. The present is a gift and we are only promised today. If we spend all our time in the past, we will not see the future that God has planned.

Future. Spending all our time worrying about the future causes us to be blind to the beauties of TODAY.  I ask God to help me with my worries, everyday. It is hard not to worry, I know. We tend to spend our time focusing on the future, thinking as we go through our day about what needs to be done tomorrow, but what does God want us to focus on? I believe in goals, I believe in planning and I believe that you should only spend a little part of your day today on tomorrow.

Thinking. I ask God to help me with my thoughts. I aim to change my thinking patterns and I am here to tell you it takes work. Mindfulness will come it just takes work.  God is helping me and I know it is a Key to my Life and yours.

Quiet. Meditation. What ever you want to call it. Amazing things happen when I am quiet. I can pray. I can read my Bible. I find peace.

FOCUS. FORGET. FUTURE. THINKING. QUIET. These are my KEYS. I sometimes forget that I have these keys and they will unlock opportunities. God gives us these KEYS and we must use them. God will give us KEYS to heaven, but there are also keys that lead to hell. I don’t know about you but I would prefer to use my KEYS to Heaven.
I am he that liveth, and was dead: and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.
Revelation 1:18

One thing that I have been doing to help with my own self is rereading a book called, Girl Code by Cara Alwill Leyba. I highly recommend it for everyone that needs a little push in the right direction. Reading this book has made me appreciate myself and my thoughts. It has also brought more peace, love and thankfulness to my soul. We all have a purpose and I aim to find mine.

I want you to help you find yours as well.

You know what else causes us to not have peace, love and thankfulness?

Negativity! Judging! Blaming!

We focus on the what could happen. We focus on insecurities. We focus on what we see on the outside. We get focused on the negatives. We focus on others flaws.

Well I am here to tell you this:

When tomorrow comes, God will provide.
He will give us what we need, but we have to have peace, love and thankfulness to see it.

We only have today to achieve peace, love and thankfulness.

Here is a few ways that I know will achieve peace, love and thankfulness:

Appreciate!
Stop Labeling!
Let go of our Past!
Don’t Compare!
Be Kind!
Don’t use Excuses!
Forgive!
Nurture and Take Care of all our Relationships!
Make Goals and Commit to them.
Take care of ourselves.
Believe!
Dream Big!
Give Everyday!
Keep Praying!!

My ending thoughts are these:

I want to live my life in a way that I can have peace, love and thankfulness. I know that the world around us is not at peace, but we can help everyday by being a example to all of those around us. That is what I aim to do and I want you to join me.  Will you? Comment below, Yes or No!! Let help each other out.

Friend love praying Sunday Thoughts

Jump-Start Your Week.

Jump-Start Your Week with Love.

My prayer this week: Lord, show me how to Love like you have loved me.

Jump-Start Your Week with Love.
And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, that, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it.
2 John 1:6
My Sunday thoughts this week have been on one word: LOVE.
We are ALL so busy, right? We all have our own priorities, our own agendas and our own plans.
I have my own problems.
I am sorry that you have problems, don’t we all?
I don’t have time to help you.
I have enough burdens.
Too often, I will admit, because of my selfishness, I choose to close my heart to others.
I know when I close my heart and I know when I have my heart open. Do you?
When my heart is closed, I am only thinking of myself.
When my heart is open, I encourage others, I lift their spirits, and I make a difference.
It is called LOVE.
Do you follow the flow of LOVE that God puts in your heart?
I have come up with my list to Jump-Start my week and I am going to share it with you.
Pray….Everyday.
Listen…without…. interrupting.
Speak..without….blame.
Give…more…than I receive.
Answer..without…forming an opinion.
Share..whatever I can.
Enjoy Life…without complaining.
Trust…More.
Forgive.. and forget.
Promise….and never forget.
Be a Friend…even when I don’t really want to.
We only have this life to share with those around us. We aren’t promised tomorrow, but we do have today. We have today to change. I know life isn’t fair and somedays are rough, but I am going to change a few things in my life. I am Jump-Starting this week by praying, listening, speaking, giving, sharing, enjoying life, trusting, forgiving, promising and be a better friend than I was yesterday.
Going miles on Monday Smiles.

Hope you all had a good weekend.

A Sunday Thought~ Unpack Your Dreams

This year I am going to Unpack my Dreams.
Will you join me?(Photo by Cary Leithead)

Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.
Isiah 43:19

It is almost the New Year!!
My thoughts have been just that- A NEW YEAR!
I have been asking myself some questions.

What do I want to do with my life in 2016?
What is our story going to look like in 2016?
What are my goals?
What can I do to help those around me?

You see, I am not making New Year’s resolutions, I am making Goals and Dreams.

Do you have any New Year’s Goals or Dreams?

I am determined to unpack my goals and my dreams. I know that if I ask God to rekindle them in my heart and mind, he will. It is time to make my visions BIG.

God tell us in Ephesians that he wants to pour out His favors on us.

That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
Ephesians 2:7

How am I going to achieve these Goals and Dreams?

I am gong to achieve these Goals and Dreams by
*believing anything is possible, when I have God on my side.
*starting each day thinking about my Goals and Dreams.
*hugging and kissing the ones that I love.
*being healthy.
*praying more.
*finding the best in everyone.
*supporting those around me.
*every day aiming to be better than the day before.
*being grateful.
*being simple.

It is almost the New Year and I am challenging you.
It is almost the New Year and I am challenging myself.
We can be a team and achieve our Goals and our Dreams.
I am Unpacking them in 2016, will you?

Happy Monday, friends!

This is the Year I will unpack my dreams.  I will be Stronger, Braver, Kinder and
Unstoppable. This year I am going to choose to be Fierce and I want you to join me.

Happy Father’s Day from the Circle L!

Happy Father’s Day from the Circle L!

Father/Son Boots
I have been thinking about Father’s Day.  Last year I blogged about Father’s Day and thanked 3 of my fathers but this year I decided to change up my blog. Read about my  Circle L 2014 Father’s Day Post.
This year I wrote down 7, Father’s Day messages that I wrote to My Cowboy.  I thought I would share them with you all.

Thank you for being a partner in parenting.

Being a mom doesn’t mean that I am the leader, and I am thankful that we can parent together. I am glad that we consider ourselves equal on being good parents.

Thank you for helping me with the kids.

From helping me get them dressed, to getting them in the bath.  From answering “BOY” questions to just being a good example.  Thanks for all you do!

You are a Huge part of the reason our kids are so cute.

I am biased and that is ok.  Our kids have half of your genes, which means that you are a good lookin’ Cowboy.  I know that I forget to tell you how handsome you are but this Father’s Day I am telling the blogging world!

You are always thoughtful.

I don’t really think about this one, but seriously, thank you for always taking me seriously about my worries. What a blessing. Thank you for being a dad that keeps me realistic without demeaning my concerns.
Cade pulling calves to the fire.

My Cowboy pulling calves to the fire.

Our son’s absolutely look up to you.

It may seem that our kids like their mom but let me tell you what I hear alot. “What’s dad doing?” “I am staying to help dad today.” “What do you think dad will say?” “We want to go with dad.” I am thankful that our kids know how important their dad is in their lives.

SSSShhhh but I think that you are more attractive as a dad then when I first meet you.

What I mean is, my heart beats a little faster when I watch you with our kids. The very fact that you may have bags under your eyes from working so much, or crusty, dirty jeans makes you that much HOTTER!

I hope that our boys grow up to be exactly like you.

It will be a great thing.  You are a great role model and take raising our kids seriously.  I pray that we manage to raise our boys to be as good of a guy as your dad was.

~So do you, My Cowboy, Happy Father’s Day from your wife.~

Kason~ Reminds me a lot of you.

Ryder~Not only does he look a lot like
you, he acts a lot like you.
I can see this little Cowboy in all our
kids. Can you?

Reata loves horses just as much
as you do.

A Sunday Thought from the Circle L!

A Sunday Thought from the Circle L!
May 10, 2015 at the Circle L!  Mother’s day for me was all about Love!

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

1 John 4:18
The things we fear can come upon us. We need to get in the habit of praying and reading our bibles. God has a great plans for all us.
Mother’s Day was a great day for me.  Why, you ask because it was snowing, blowing and cold? You see, I got to see that God is still in control.  I got to see love in my kid’s faces when I opened their homemade cards.  I got to see love when I found a lost calf and united her with her mother. I got see love when our family sat around and played a game of marbles and I saw the Love when my kids all prayed for all our animals.  I had overwhelming LOVE on a day that could easily been bad.
My thoughts are this:
God is bigger than any of our problems. God is guiding us and good things are going to happen.
This past weekend was a good example of good things to come.  I can not wait to see our Sandhills turn a bright green and the wildflowers to start blooming.
This week all I have is good thoughts.  My heart is full and I am thankful.
Happy Monday to my blog reading friends!
How was your Mother’s Day?
Have I mentioned today how much that I love this life that
God has given to me.
